Further, Faster

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line. Yet somehow our decisions often lead us down a more scenic route. The scripture tells us that if we follow God's instructions, He will make our paths straight. This means He can take you further, faster. 

By redirecting our steps, God helps us to avoid the distractions and detours that delay us from accomplishing great things. 

And how do we get this direction? The scripture is clear, we should always rely on Him, never, ever rely on our own understanding. No seriously, how many times have you said to yourself "If I had known that, I would have....." Accept that you don't know the way and you need a guide. 

In Isaiah 2:22, He also reminds us not to look to other people for answers. Man is nothing more than the breath in his nostrils, why should he be taken into account? In short, He's telling you they are in the boat as you. No one knows what's ahead so it's best to go to Him for answers, and Him only. 

Finally, keep in mind there is no cousel that is against God's word. Anything short of that cannot be counted as councel. For this reason, find friends that redirect you back to God's words, promises and direction when you are faced with a decision. It is true the choice is yours, but when you get tired of going in circles remember, He can get you there further, faster.
