Some people are simply givers. They give freely of their time, money and any other resource available to them. They're the ones we call first when we are in need and they are the ones who offer their help before you can ask for it. Everyone is happy to see these people walk in the door and look forward to seeing them again.

Give Generously

Proverbs 11:24-25

Some people are simply givers. They give freely of their time, money and any other resource available to them. They're the ones we call first when we are in need and they are the ones who offer their help before you can ask for it. Everyone is happy to see these people walk in the door and look forward to seeing them again.

On the other hand, there are people with nothing to give, ever. Everything they have, no matter how much, is for them and them alone. Asking of these people feels like an insult to them. For these people, to give is to lose, and to keep is to gain. But the scripture tells us that the one who gives generously ends up with more. Another withholds and comes to poverty.

In my lifetime, I've noticed that generous people never really want for anything. While they are giving, they are continuously being given to and provided for. They are reaping what they are sowing and live in abundance. I've also seen what happens when a selfish person is in need. No one is inclined to help them. Since they are so confident that they can sustain themselves, they've sewn nothing and have nothing to reap.

You should know that no matter what your occupation, financial status or how strong your health is, a day will come when you will need the help of others. Giving never hurts, instead it strengthens your relationship with God through obedience and it paves the path you will later need to stand on. Give. And give generously, cheerfully. Remember God loves a cheerful giver.
