​It won’t always come to you in a way that you feel is appropriate. People won’t always think before they speak. And some people are going to think it and say it anyway.

But the scripture reminds us to be peaceable with all men, as much as it depends on you. That tells us that He knows that peace will sometimes be one sided. He knows that whether or not peace prevails will sometimes fall on the shoulders of one person. It tells us that he knows one person can make a difference. He’s asking you to do everything in your power to keep the peace. Not to control others but to control yourself.

In these moments, try to remember, nobody is perfect. People don’t always get it right and a little patience goes a long way.
